This week we talked about what it means to serve, even when it’s hard. And today, we’re closing it out with a reminder straight from Galatians 6:9: “Let us not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”

Whew… that part! Serving others doesn’t always feel rewarding in the moment. Maybe you’ve shown up for people who didn’t show up for you. Maybe you’ve poured out and felt empty. But sis, God sees it all. Every prayer, every act of kindness, every quiet “yes” to love someone when it wasn’t easy, it’s all planting seeds with eternal…

In John 13:12-17, Jesus humbled Himself to wash His disciples’ feet, a job usually reserved for the lowest servant. It was uncomfortable, messy, and even shocking to those watching. Yet, Jesus did it to teach us that true service requires humility, love, and a willingness to put others before ourselves.

If you were in that moment, what would have been your biggest struggle?

1️⃣ Pride – I’d struggle with lowering myself to serve in such a humble way.

2️⃣ Disgust – Touching dirty feet? I don’t know if I could do it.

3️⃣ Embarrassment – Serving like that feels too uncomfortable or awkward.

4️⃣ Judgment – Some people don’t deserve that level of service.

Serving like Christ isn’t about status, recognition, or convenience. It’s about seeing a need and meeting it with love. It’s about laying down pride and stepping into the role of a servant. How can we follow His example today?

When Jesus prayed in the Garden of Gethsemane, “Not my will, but Yours be done,” (Luke 22:42), He showed us the heart of true service, obedience to God’s will. Serving isn’t always easy. It may be inconvenient, uncomfortable, or even unrecognized by others. But when we serve out of obedience, rather than personal gain, we align ourselves with God's purpose. And in that obedience, we find true joy and fulfillment!

Today, reflect on this: Are you serving only when it’s convenient, or are you willing to serve even when it requires sacrifice?

Forgiveness sounds good in theory, but in practice? It’s not always easy. Sometimes the pain is deep, and other times, pride gets in the way. But God calls us to forgive, not just for others, but for our own freedom.

What’s the biggest challenge for you when it comes to forgiveness?

1️⃣ Letting go of the hurt – The pain feels too deep to release.

2️⃣ Trusting again – I fear getting hurt the same way.

3️⃣ They don’t deserve it – I struggle when they show no remorse.

4️⃣ Forgiving myself – I have a hard time releasing my own mistakes.

Forgiveness isn’t just about letting someone off the hook, it’s about setting ourselves free. When we hold onto unforgiveness, it weighs down our hearts and limits our ability to love and serve others fully.

Matthew 6:14-15 reminds us: "For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins."

Unforgiveness creates barriers between us and the people we are called to serve. When we release bitterness, we make room for God's love to flow through us. True service requires a heart that is open, not weighed down by resentment.

Are you carrying the burden of unforgiveness? Today, let’s reflect on what it means to release that weight and serve with a heart full of grace.

Serving others is easier when we understand our own worth in God’s love. If we struggle with self-worth, we may serve out of obligation, exhaustion, or a need for approval. But when we embrace how deeply God loves us, we can serve with joy, purpose, and sincerity!

Which of these best describes your current mindset?

1️⃣ I struggle with self-love – I often serve from a place of seeking approval or validation.

2️⃣ I’m growing in this area – I’m learning to embrace God’s love for me so I can serve from a healthy place.

3️⃣ I serve from overflow – I know my worth in God, and it allows me to serve freely and joyfully!

4️⃣ I’ve never thought about this – I’m realizing now how self-love and service are connected.

True service starts with love. Not just for others, but for ourselves. In Leviticus 19:18, God commands us to “love your neighbor as yourself,” which assumes that we first know how to love ourselves! But real self-love isn’t about pride or selfishness, it’s about seeing ourselves the way God sees us.

When our self-love is rooted in God’s love, we don’t serve out of emptiness, people-pleasing, or seeking validation. Instead, we serve from a place of confidence and humility, knowing that our worth isn’t in what we do but in who we are in Him.

Take a moment to reflect: Do you truly love yourself the way God does? How does your view of yourself impact the way you serve others?

Which posture best describes where you are in your surrender to God?

1️⃣ Hands Closed – I struggle with letting go and fully trusting God.

2️⃣ One Hand Open – I’ve surrendered some things, but I’m still holding on to others.

3️⃣ Hands Lifted – I’m learning to trust and serve God with an open heart.

4️⃣ Knees Bowed – I am fully surrendered, letting God lead my service completely.

This week, we’re diving into the heart of service, and today’s focus is on the posture of surrender.

Romans 12:1 reminds us: “Present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.”

True service isn’t about obligation—it’s an act of love, gratitude, and surrender to the One who gave everything for us. When we fully give ourselves to God, He shapes us, leads us, and shows us how to serve others with a pure heart.

Take a moment to reflect: Are there areas in your life where you’re holding back from fully surrendering to God? What would it look like to…
