One of the hardest parts of managing our time well is learning to say that little word, no. As women, especially as nurturers, leaders, and helpers, we often feel pulled in every direction. And while serving is a beautiful part of who we are, overcommitting can leave us drained, distracted, and distant from the very God we’re trying to honor.
Even Jesus took time to pull away to pray, rest, and recharge. That’s balance. That’s wisdom.
Matthew 5:37 says, “Let your ‘yes’ be yes, and your ‘no,’ no.”In other words, be intentional. Be honest. Be clear. Setting boundaries doesn’t make you selfish, it makes you obedient and available for what God has truly called you to.
Let’s reflect: Where in your life are you overcommitted, and is it possible that some of those “yeses” are pulling you away from what God truly wants you focused on?
